Conference Introduction

4th Internation Conference of Global Alliance for Research on Avian Diseases (GARAD-2026)

9th Symposium of UK-China Center of Excellence for Research on Avian Diseases (CERAD-2026)

The current global situation regarding avian disease control remains critical. Major viral diseases such as avian influenza, Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, Marek's disease, and infectious bursal disease continue to outbreak frequently, while issues related to bacterial diseases and antimicrobial resistance are becoming increasingly prominent, along with growing risks of cross-border transmission. Against this backdrop, this conference will focus on the frontiers of avian disease research, promote the deep integration of basic research and applied technologies, and facilitate collaborative efforts among the global research community.

Under the theme "One World, One Health – A New Frontier in Addressing Global Avian Disease Challenges," this conference aims to pool global expertise and establish a high-level, multidisciplinary, and international platform for academic exchange and cooperation, jointly addressing the persistent challenges posed by avian diseases to the poultry industry, food safety, and public health.

The conference will bring together leading scientists, veterinarians, epidemiologists, industry representatives, and early-career researchers from around the world to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges on the following topics:

·Pathogenic mechanisms and control strategies for major viral avian diseases (avian influenza, Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, Marek's disease, infectious bursal disease, etc.)

·Surveillance and integrated management of avian bacterial diseases and antimicrobial resistance

·Development and application of novel vaccines and diagnostic technologies

·Advances in avian immunology and disease-resistant breeding

·Epidemiological investigations, cross-border transmission mechanisms, and risk assessment

·Successful case studies and practical experiences in avian disease eradication programs

·Innovative applications of emerging technologies in avian disease prevention and control

Throughout the conference, the One Health concept will be upheld, systematically addressing the far-reaching impacts of avian diseases on global food safety, public health, economic stability, and human well-being. The conference will promote international research collaboration and policy coordination, facilitate knowledge sharing, resource integration, and technology transfer, and support the development of an efficient and sustainable global collaborative network for avian disease prevention and control.
